Getting coverage and care through Auburn Health Services is simple!
All patients will fall into at least one of our four coverage categories. Patients will always pay the lowest costs possible, as outlined by the most comprehensive coverage category for which they are eligible.
If you...
reside in the town of Auburn
reside in the Heart Lake-Lake Auburn region (i.e., reside in a town or settlement on the shore of either lake, or reside within a three kilometre chessboard radius of D50/SW20 MRT station)
are an employee of the government of the town of Auburn or a dependent of an Auburn municipal employee, even if you do not reside in the region
attend Auburn Academy as a student
are a member of the Auburn Academy community (e.g., employee or dependent of an employee or student), even if you do not reside in the region
...you are eligible to receive care from Auburn Health Services for free, pending verification of residency or affiliation with the Auburn municipal government or Auburn Academy.
If you...
are a visitor to Auburn
are a visitor to the Heart Lake-Lake Auburn region (as defined above)
...you are eligible to receive care from Auburn Health Services for a highly subsidised cost. This coverage includes all emergency care and any follow up care, but is limited to individuals who experience a medical emergency or sudden need for medical attention while travelling to or in the region.
Medical tourism is not a covered activity. Auburn Health Services reserves the right to require proof of pre-planned travel for purposes other than seeking care from Auburn Health Services, and to refuse this category of coverage in cases of medical tourism.
If you...
have an insurance plan (through your employer or otherwise) that explicitly contracts with Auburn Health Services
have negotiated a Modified Cost Agreement (through your health coverage or independently) for healthcare provided by Auburn Health Services
are enrolled in the Auburn Health Services Access to Care Scheme (e.g., for patients in extreme financial need or patients with complex care requirements not attainable through their local healthcare providers)
...you are eligible to receive care from Auburn Health Services for the pre-arranged lowered cost, as detailed in your insurance policy, Modified Cost Agreement, or Access to Care Scheme contract.
If you do not fall into any of the groups defined for Coverage Categories I, II, or III, any care you receive from Auburn Health Services will be billed at the full, unsubsidised cost.
Emergency services are available twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week at Auburn General Hospital. Appointments are not required. Members of the Auburn Academy community should seek emergency care at the Academy's Infirmary.
Our primary, specialty, and mental health care services require appointments, which can be made over the phone or by visiting our appointments tool.
We provide all care for our patients at Auburn General Hospital. Members of the Auburn Academy community receive some of their care at the Academy's Infirmary and Mental Health Centre.
